WinMx Menu Tabs
The Main Menu on WinMx appears as shown below:
The Main Menu Tabs across the top of the WinMx program screen
(GUI) are
Networks,
Shared Files,
Chat,
Search,
Hotlist,
Transfers,
Bandwidth,
Ignored,
Settings and
Help.
For a brief overview on any specific tab, just click on its corresponding
image below, or follow through the links at the bottom of the pages for a full WinMx tutorial.

The Networks Tab on WinMx shows your current connection status to the WPNP. Also from the Netwoks Tab can be chosen OpenNap.

The Shared Files Tab on WinMx enables you to list, add and delete folders in your shares. Also, you can augment the default filetypes available for share on WinMx and share any type of file.

The Chat Tab on WinMx brings you to the Chat Room zone on WinMx. The main chatroom channel list window populates with all the available current chatrooms and lists at the top each chat room in which you are currently present.

The Search Tab on WinMx allows you to perform searches of both the WinMx Peer Network, as well as searches of all available OpenNap networks. Filetypes listed as searchable include numerous audio filetypes (mp3, ogg, etc), video filetypes (mpg, avi, etc), archived files (zip, rar, etc) and several others.

The Hotlist Tab on WinMx open up your Hotlist on the right hand side of the program screen. The Hotlist is a list of any users you have chatted in private with and any user you add to the list (by right clicking their name from the userlist in any chatroom and choosing "Add to Hotlist." Also, from the Hotlist Options Tab that opens, away messages can be set with an auto-responder.

The Transfers Tab on WinMx will reveal current status of all completed, current and queued downloads and uploads. Queue control is facilitated here by the options at the top of the screen (eg. Auto Enter Queue).

The Bandwidth Tab on WinMx graphs your incoming (downloads) and outgoing (uploads) bandwidth usage, in real-time. Bandwidth throttling (limiting) is done through this section.

The Ignored Tab on WinMx lists anyone you have added to your Ignore List. Once a person is added to this list, they can no longer download files from you, nor can you see what they type in a chatroom.

The Settings Tab on WinMx allows you to modify both the appearance and functionality of WinMx. Use the Setup Wizard if you are unsure of how to get WinMx connected.

The Help Tab on WinMx will show you the current version of WinMx you are using as well as some technical data. Also can be found the Licence Agreement for using WinMx and some dead links to the old WinMx.com website for help (When Frontcode was shut down, all these links became dead).
